Hide Cognos Connection objects

Case:

It is possible in cognos Connection to hide objects such as reports, packages, pages, folders and so on, for normal users. This can be done to be sure that users don’t start reports they don’t need.

Reports that are hidden can be accessed through an drill-through link.

Solution:

Login as administrator in Cognos Connection

Go to  my area –> my preferences –> highlight “Show hidden items”

Go to a folder with reports

Choose properties of a report you want to hide

Choose “Hide this item”

The hidden report icon becomes vague and is not visible unless the user also selects “Show hidden items” in their preferences.
